Cathcart Technology is partnering with a leading insurance group in its search for a Cyber Security Manager. This leadership role oversees a team of security specialists, working alongside international service providers and HQ security teams. Beyond core security operations, you will gain broad exposure across incident response, security architecture, privileged access management, vulnerability management, baseline compliance and security risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading a team of Cyber Security Specialists, setting priorities, overseeing security operations, incident handling and compliance activities, and acting as the escalation point for complex incidents
- Overseeing the day-to-day operation of the organisation's security solutions and network security controls, including BAU requests, policy changes and planned maintenance activities
- Driving the annual baseline compliance and vulnerability assessment programme, analysing findings, tracking remediation and advising IT teams on closing gaps
- Ensuring security control coverage across IT assets, including asset onboarding and offboarding
- Developing and maintaining security operations policies, standards and procedures
- Delivering regional and global cyber security initiatives mandated by HQ
- Partnering with IT project teams to shape secure designs and conduct security risk assessments
- Building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, business units and external service providers to align security priorities with business needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in cyber security operations, with a broad understanding of security controls such as firewalls, IPS/IDS, WAF and endpoint protection
- Proven experience leading a team of cyber security specialists or engineers
- Solid background in incident management and response
- Exposure to vulnerability management, PAM or NAC is highly advantageous
- Experience across multiple operating systems, cloud platforms and technology stacks is preferred
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and advise IT and business teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a results-driven mindset
- Good communication skills in English
