In 2024, Cathcart Technology awarded a scholarship to Thanaphut Aksornprasert (Potter), a Computer Engineering student at Kasetsart University, supporting him on his educational journey and development within the technology field.

An Update from Potter

We recently heard from Potter, now in his third year of Computer Engineering at Kasetsart University. We’re delighted to see his growth, especially his developing interest in Data Engineering. We’re proud to have supported his journey and look forward to seeing what comes next.

“My name is Thanaphut Aksornprasert, and my nickname is Potter. I am currently a third-year student in the Computer Engineering at Kasetsart University. This year has been a very positive and meaningful year for me, both academically and personally. One of the best things that happened was becoming much closer to my friends compared to previous years. I have found a great group of friends who support each other in many ways. We often study together, encourage each other to prepare for exams, and spend our free time playing sports and doing various activities together. Having good friends around me has made university life more enjoyable and has also helped me stay motivated in my studies.

As a third-year Computer Engineering student, the subjects I study have become more specialized and closely related to the field of computer engineering. One of the subjects I particularly enjoy is Data Mining, which introduced me to several areas related to data, such as Data Science, Data Analytics, and Data Engineering. Among these areas, Data Engineering is the one that interests me the most. I enjoy learning about how data is collected, processed, managed, and prepared for further analysis. Because of this interest, I have also tried to learn more about Data Engineering outside the classroom through self-study and online resources. I believe that this field could become an important part of my future career, and I am interested in developing my skills in this area further.

Although studying is an important part of my university life, I also believe that taking care of my physical and mental health is equally important. I have continued to exercise regularly and maintain a healthy lifestyle. After classes, my friends and I often go to the gym or play sports together. In the first semester of this academic year, I also had the opportunity to participate in a friendly basketball competition between the Computer Engineering and Software Engineering students. It was a valuable experience because I was able to enjoy playing basketball while also spending time with my friends and meeting other students.

Overall, I feel that this year has been going very well for me. I have made progress in my studies, developed a clearer idea of what I want to do in the future, built stronger friendships, and continued to take care of my health. I have learned that university life is not only about getting good grades, but also about gaining new experiences, building relationships, and taking care of myself. I always try to maintain a balance between studying, exercising, and enjoying my life so that I do not become too stressed. I hope to continue improving myself, gaining new knowledge, and making the most of my university life in the years ahead.”
